John St Aubyn FRPS FRSA FRES (1889-1975)
John St Aubyn was a respected and sucessful amateur photographer and among his many sucesses had over 200 prints exhibited in the London Salon of Photography between 1924 & 1974.
I am collecting copies of his Photographic prints and artifacts and this is a page dedicated to him and his Photography.
He was born in 1889 and served as a Captain in the Army Service Corps between 1916 and 1920 and worked in banking administration until his retirement. He was a Founding member of Old Coulsdon Camera Club and a life member of Folkestone Camera Club.
He died in Folkestone in 1975.
His love of Bromoil printing has left a large collection of pictures in public and private collections and sadly many have been destroyed or discarded over the years. He was a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society as well as being made an Honorary Fellow in 1969.
His particular interests were, Bromoil printing, Stereo Photography and Entomology.
Recently purchased for the collection was a small Silver Plaque which John won in 1925 (see bottom of page)
I am interested to obtain more of John St Aubyn original prints as seen in this selection.
